Photography workshops for wedding/elopement photographers.
Free rein is defined as: unrestricted liberty of action or decision. That is how we want you to be able to run your business. Free rein brings together engaging educators, rad styled shoots, and networking opportunities to help take your photography to the next level. We don't want you to come, listen, and head home with a few new tricks and images for your portfolio. We want you to leave energized with new information, techniques, and a support system of fellow Free Rein participants. How do we achieve this?
1. Open discussion with educators. While our speakers will have a portion of their time to present uninterrupted, there will be equal time for open discussion & questions to bring the real life challenges you face in your business to them so you can hurdle past those road blocks and move on to greatness.
2. Equal time for everyone to shoot. Each workshop will have several shooting stations to rotate between to keep each group small. Each participant will have ample time with models, details, and set ups. As a bonus, educators will be floating between the stations for hands on instruction.
3. Connection and Collaboration. We want you to get more than images + knowledge from this workshop. We want you to walk away with industry friends you can collaborate and create with. After each workshop a collective contact sheet will be sent out with each participants social media handles, and the contact information for all the wonderful vendors + sponsors so you can follow, tag, & connect.

Bob Oei is a portrait photographer and film maker. He's lived in both New York and LA, but currently settles in the middle, in Waco, TX. He started taking portraits as a way to maintain his cinematography skills when he wasn't working, and quickly grew to love the craft. From freezing moments in time to shaping light with strobes, portrait photography has become a passion. While his path to becoming a photographer is not the typical journey of most people, he feels that it lends a unique perspective and visual style to his images.
Maryn Elise Photography is a lifestyle & wedding photographer based out of Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. She was introduced to photography in early high school and I fell in love with it soon after. Her message to her clients is "Let's capture your genuine, quirky, sarcastic, goofy, teasing, loving, soft, and fun love. The perfectly imperfect." Maryn loves natural light & passionate lovers because that's what matters most.

You can do this by posting on social media, in Facebook photography groups, or directly to our Facebook Page HERE. WILL THERE BE A MEAL?
Yes! Not only will there be a midday meal for us all to enjoy while we chat with our new friends, but there will be snacks/drinks put out throughout the day to make sure all participants are fueled to the max. No one learns well when they are hungry!
MAY I USE THE IMAGES FOR MY PORTFOLIO?
For sure! We aim to create special and unique shoots to help your portfolio pop!
HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS WILL THERE BE?
Our workshops will cap at 15 students.
HOW BIG WILL THE GROUPS BE FOR THE STYLED SHOOT?
Each participant getting ample time with the models is a priority. You will be shooting in groups of 5 & there will be several stations for each group to shoot at. The groups will rotate so everyone gets to shoot each set up.
IS THERE A DRESS CODE FOR THE WORKSHOP?
Not at all! We will be spending the day in listening to speakers, shooting (both indoors/outdoors), and networking so be comfortable!
ARE THE SHOOTS ON LOCATION?
Yes. All of the shoots and breakout sessions will be held in one location.
I HAVE A DIETARY RESTRICTION, WHAT DO I DO?
Let us know about your dietary restriction when filling out your application and we will make sure your meal is safe and tasty!
I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER, CAN I STILL PARTICIPATE?
We would love to have you! These workshops are meant to help photographers like you start, grow, or maximize your business. Just be aware that these are not beginners workshops and general knowledge of camera gear is required for you to maximize your results.
